just read your proposal. I t looks very promising.
I am afraid you have overlooked how much work it will be to do:
7. Make changes to every usage of database -- to use DBManager.
Currently the Mixxx code expect immediate results for most queries.
If it took longer it simply stalls the GUI. If you now do the query via
your new DBManager.
I will still wait for it, and ... stall the GUI.
I am also missing some important points:
- Learning how sqlite works. I am not sure, but maybe it has a DBManager
inside?
- Which threads is sqlite using?
- Learning about all the multitherading issues of sqlite?

QtCreator?
