I am using OSX Mavericks too. I had a few troubles building mixxx on my machine
as well. But now I have it all set up.
If you are having any problems installing vamp-plugin-sdk or rubberband, here
are the links,

try `brew install http://tuohela.net/irc/rubberband.rb` and the same for
vamp-plugin-sdk.
