Hi everyone, I have done lot of homework on Mixxx to learn how it works this weekend. One thing I want to mention is that I had a lot of trouble building the project in Windows QtCreator using the .pro file which is under build->qtcreator. I think It has not been maintained and therefore is outdated. I worked hard to fix it and will be happy to upload one that is working properly once all the errors are fixed. By the meantime I built the source using Scons in Ubuntu and it is 100% painless job [?] thanks to the developers.
I would like to work on advanced track management tool project and
therefore like to mention what I'm planing to implement in the system
1. A new metadata Editor for Mixxx
-Allow change metadata inline
-Bulk editing data
2. Resolve conflicts involve with Artists and Albums
i.e identifying Beatles,The Beatles and Beatle as the same artist
3. Auto detect Artist and Album tags of the tracks in which those
informations are missing
I started to study TagLib, Music Brainz and Picard to get a background
knowledge on how to implement an efficient track management tool. Please
let me know other intended outcomes of the project that is not mentioned
above. I would also like to know some more good reference metadata editors
so I could integrate those features into Mixxx
