Hi,

we are going circles in our discussion. It seams that there is still a
fuzzy fear of regression due to an early merge.
It can reduced by more tests and probably a extra look to the source. My
personal fear was reduced a lot since my last test session.

Let us try to summarize the agreements and the current state of discussion:
(Please correct me if I am wrong)

* The source API branch contains important changes and fix some strong
issues.
* we cannot merge the sound source API branch now, because we missing
final tests on Windows, all test on Mac OS and a test with a significant
number of files of different formats.
* The reviewing and unit testing was done sufficient. An extra look of a
unbiased pair of eyes would be nice.
* It is desired so release the branch sound source API branch as soon as
possible, but without putting an extra delay on the release schedule of
1.12.0

####

Lets continue to think the "another beta" idea. What do wee need for it
to make it real?

I think we need to adopt the sound source branch as 1.12.1 alpha. We
need to provide test build for all targets.
A desired schedule could be a beta releasecontemporaneous with the
1.12.0 release.

@rryan: When do you think you find the time to fix the build server?
There is a pending optimization issue.
Can you setup a 1.12.1 alpha branch as well? Thank you!

I hope we find a significant number of beta tester that is willing to
test 1.12.0 beta and short after 1.12.1.

####

@Owen: Do you have access to a Mac build environment? If yes it would be
nice if you jump in until RJ finds time to setup the build server.
You may verify that the Uwes branch compiles an works for you.
I think this is also the best way to get a feeling about the state of
quality of the branch.

Any other ideas or comments?

Kind regards,

Daniel
