Hey there Mixxx-Dev-Team!
We just wanted to briefly introduce ourselfes, as we are currently planning
on contibuting to mixxx.
We are Niels Warncke and Leonard Huebner, both students at the technical
univesity of Berlin(Germany).
Niels is studying ComputerScience in the second semester and
Leo ist studying ComputerScience+ElectricalEngeneering, also in the second
semester.
We have not much of a background in C++, but we know some other languages
(naming C, Java, Ruby ...) and therefore are quite fast at adapting to new
languages.
Currently, we are looking for a way to get into the community and code of
mixxx, as we plan to apply for the GSoC next year.
While we played around with mixxx we noticed that the BPMDetection for
faster tracks(DnB between 160 and 180 bpm) yields some faulty results in
approx. 1/8 of all our tracks and therefore we wanted to check out the code
that is handling the BPM/Beatgrid-Detection.
Up until now we found out about VAMP-Plugins which seem to handle this.
Do you have any recommendations where to start if we want to work on this
issue?
Or is there already a fix that we have not found so far?
