I am SYED AFSAHUL HAQUE and I am currently in first year of my engineering
(B.Tech) in Information Technology in Manipal Institute of Technology,India.
I am interested in applying for GSOC-16 under Mixxx for Meta Data tracking
editor.
While going through the idea list, two ideas came to my mind-
i)Instead of using MusicBrainz to get meta data, we could rather use other
more trust worthy sources like you tube or wikipedia for that matter, in
the way in which google does it.(If the song/album name is searched, the
first result is from you tube/wikipedia)
ii)Extracting meta data from multiple sources-Rather than getting meta data
from just one source (here MusicBrainz), we could rather ______ data from
multiple sources and compare the data.If the matches then we could use it
and if not then ask the user.
For example, we can extract meta data from two different sources and then
compare them.If the meta data matches then we use it else we extract meta
data from a third source.If any of the three meta data matches then we use
it else we ask the user to choose from any of the three options.
