-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 No, but MusicBrainz asks for users to manually identify acoustic fingerprints anyway. An angle that might be very useful (and even useful beyond Mixxx) would be one where the APIs of Discogs and MusicBrainz could be called to play together better, so that MusicBrainz gave the user the general idea and Discogs presented very plausible real world options.
Because on one side we have the empirical data of fingerprints, and on the other we have fairly well verified data that is metadata. Byt currently users would have to manually visit Discogs for every track in question for cross-referencing. IMO Youtube is a terrible source of music data. At this point none of it is verified, or even tracked in any kind of public database. ~RAWRR > On Wed, 16 Mar 2016 09:58:33 +0000 "Max Linke" <max_li...@gmx.de> wrote: >On 03/15/2016 11:08 PM, Daniel Schürmann wrote: > >> I prefer the original recording data. >> I find myself verifying the Metadata by Discogs, which has also >> a public API. > >You already need some metadata information to use this.
