Having to also understand the XML mapping structure and how it worked on
top of learning Mixxx internals was a big sticking point for me. This
proposal would make it significantly easier for anyone with Javascript
background to dig right in.
Two things I'd like to bring up:
1. backwards compatibility
- how will existing mappings be ported over?
2.mapping customization by end user
- perhaps we can store these either in XML or in a table in the DB, and
these can override mappings specified in code.
- it would be nice to expose some sort of customization ui for the user
that the mapping itself could specify. Support could be limited to boolean
and integer values.
- the above could be passed to the mapping on initialization in some sort
of options object
