Reading it roughly thru few comments arise:
* Is this also for recording to file? So should Recording to file
also be here... it's just diffrent kind of streaming. For years I have
dreamed not to have first FLAC and after that encode to OGG and MP3.
* More generic output would be nice because zones have moved to
Facebook, WenRTC and Youtube. Shoutcast is not in youngsters radar.
* Is there a reason not to store these in SQLite? Why use separated
XML files?
* AAC is full of bombs but there is FFMpeg class (which is not used)
support for encoding this and it's not that bad to implement if FFmpeg
is added as hard dependency of Mixxx.
As I wrote Opus decoding and If I have time I could write Opus encoding
this summer as the interface is 90% same as in Vorbis.

I am one of the students participating in GSoC with Mixxx this year.
During the program, I'll be working on implementing broadcasting
profiles and multi-broadcasting (several streaming outputs with
different credentials and/or codec settings) under the mentorship of
Daniel.
I'm nearing completion of the design and planning for Broadcast
Profiles, which will be the feature I'll be working on during the
first GSoC phase (from May 30th to June 30th). I also have a good
starting point for the design of phase 2, multi-broadcasting.

Can you please have a look at the linked wiki page and give your
feedback/feelings regarding the changes proposed ? I am relatively new
