Sorry I didn't make myself as clear I tried: I'm not speaking library
license. I'm talking about demands from AAC license holders (Like
Nokia). If they are willing to sue someone (Mixxx ain't first in the
list I think) they will request for big money. FFmpeg own encoder just
resolves dependency with libfaac and it's far better solutions to have
own that rely FAAC.

AAC license is pretty problematic. As they allow any usage, stream
and creating AAC they do not allow binary distribution of AAC
encoder/decoder because of the license. Many FFmpeg binaries comes
with AAC enable but they are 'illegal' to do so. Problem is solved
with h.264 (video codec) that way Cisco purchased license and
allowed everyone to use it without a cost.
So having AAC enable and not fearing getting into court is my
opinion full of bombs. Nothing forces us not to develop AAC
streaming which can be enable by advanced user but patents that
involve AAC are expiring in couple of years so after that I don't
know.
I think it would easiest to have FFmpeg as encoder for everything
first and then enable it as decoder. Then this AAC thing would be
trivial. Just replace libraries with AAC enabled ones.
or go with old good Mixxx way you just add libfaac in and then you
have AAC.
