I thought in the original posting I had said:
I use nuvexport-dvd to go from nupple to mpeg2 which uses mythtranscode
and ffmpeg. Commercials are cut in this process.

In my case I get a nupple mostion jpeg file recording with mythtv as the
card does not have mpeg hardware.

If I could only get the new system working that would change as I have a
PVR 500 and an HD3000 card in the new system.
