Sorry for hijacking this thread with my problem in a previous thread (lavrec records blank), but I thought that it was relevant. Andrea had a similar problem as in my thread. a.) mjpegtools-1.8 does not have the -U option for lavplay, 1.9 does. b.) mmap playback with on-board: it is interesting that I also have an on- board sound card, and I do have problem with mmap, just as Andrea has. My on-board sound card driver is snd_intel8x0 which is a well established driver. Could it be that mmap fails because the card is not pci or ISA, because it is "on-bboard"? Just a thought from a non-C programmer or from a non-expert of device drivers.
