Subject: torque & stuff

I'm sorry, but your car must be in need of a large tune up. Mine has torque
from about 2000 and up...

<<<<Eh, that was me. And, my point was clearly that LOW RPM torque was
lacking. Of course the torque is decent at high RPM's, which is what you
get dropping a gear or two. But I don't LIKE driving around at 5krpm.>>>>

As a designer by edu-ma-cation and making a living designing, I must say that
there are no such things as foolproof designs. No,
really, people will find a way to mess up the most beautiful solution to a
problem. As far as your cars' handling... If you car
cannot kick the rear end out, then you have a HORRIBLE suspension set up. My
rear end will slide whenever I want it to when driven
near the limit. Obvously you need to tune your suspension as well. Car
suspension engineers which make a living by tuning a car
for the average driver are not stupid. Believe me, VW, Honduh, and whomever
else you want to bring up dot no hire just anyone for
jobs like this. Ever looked at the price of a 325ix? Fun, affordable, and
sporty... Brand new Golf 4-motion... A bunch of older
Audi Coupes... Golf Rallye... need I go on???
<<<<I still fail to see how FWD is such a foolproof design, that unskilled
squids can save themselves when they screw up. I still don't like being
unable to make the rear end move around while in a corner, or while
exiting. It's just along for the ride and that's annoying. Maybe it's
just me, but I greatly prefer having the rear wheels break loose in
corners, not the fronts. Just my opinion... btw, I do think AWD is cool
(and better than FWD or RWD) but there aren't many fun, affordable,
sporty German cars with AWD. (Notice I tossed in "affordable" for you
Porsche fans...:)>>>>
