Ian Birch of DubSport in N.England (who built the twin 16V, which was a MkI, BTW) also built a twin VR6 Rallye. It is now owned as a toy by an elderly gent who uses it for tack days, shows etc. S/ Euan Wotherspoon Assoc. Technical Analyst

The production Porsches with a mid engine config are the 914- 4, 914-6, and the Boxster family. Porsche has had a lot of race cars that were mid engine, starting with the 550 Spyder, and going on through the 904/906/908/910/917/936/962 programs. The current vintage GT-1's are really a mid engine design, as well. > Has there ever been a > GTI/Jetta/Golf..etc.. with a mid engine, or has anyone > ever tried that? Someone in the UK put together a twin engine A2 Golf, with one 16V motor in the usual place, and another where the rear seat used to be. I know of one local tuner that has considered putting a VR6 in the middle of an A1 Scirocco, with either rear wheel, or Syncro drivetrain. > I also heard about the new (well, to the US) 4motion's > arriving in the US soon. The 4Motion VR6 is supposed to be an all alloy 24 valve, with 204 hp. _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
