Everyone knows VW radios are just sitting there... Is there a VW without the pried metal underneath the door handle, or do they come like that from factory?

The way to hold it in is the metal thing that will come with a new stereo and you just bend the little "tabs" into and around whatever you can to hold it. In terms of securing it to make theft more difficult- get an alarm. If someone wants your stereo, they're going to get it, and if they can't, or it's difficult, they'll just trash your car. Personally, I'd rather they were just off with the head unit. My bracket was ripped out, it looks like it was only riveted into that cardboard/fibreboard stuff. How do I hold my head unit in? Right now anyone could grab my nice pioneer in 5 seconds flat (its just kinda resting in there) The stereo looks flush and its kinda nice that whenever I need to its real easy to take it out. How would I go about making a new bracket or what could I secure my head to? mark Diederich '86 GLI _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
