Yeah, mine came from the factory with combination pried and "will freeze in
winter" door handles.  

<OT RANT>
What the HELL was VW thinking?  VW/Audi/Porsche used the same goddamn
design for the door handles for about 15 years.  It's a nice simple design,
but those stupid things are way more trouble than they're worth.  A neat
side note:  Porsche 944's used the same basic design as the VW handle,
which costs less than $20.  The 944 handle costs $200!  The handles on my
924, which are the SAME handles that I have on my '91 Jetta, cost (get
this) $100 at the dealership.  When I got the new one, it had a FILED DOWN
VW EMBLEM and a sticker saying "genuine Porsche part."  Bastards.  The same
basic gouging technique was seen in the brakes, switches, relays,
accessories, etc throughout that car.
