i encountered similar probems when i was doind the jetronic-->motronic conversion in my 87 gti. when i first did the swap, i still had the earlier fuel dist assembly and the injectors to go with it. it would feel like the car would bog with anything but a slight amount of throttle. turns out i had to replace the whole fuel dist assy w/ the motronic one. i know its not exactly the same problems you guys are experiencing, but its a place to start. meticulously following the bently's tests should come up with something. it almost always does. > I'm suspecting the knock sensor control unit itself.
