<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hello all. I just bought an 88 GTI 16V with ~150k
miles on it. I plan to autocross it and use it as a daily driver etc. I have a
few questions:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>1. The odometer currently is not working. The
speedo works fine. Are the internal parts to these available anywhere or should
I have a speedometer shop work on it? If the answer is speedometer shop,
can any old one do it?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>2. Regarding an autocross setup, I would like to
stay in the Stock class so I can't do anything really radical except springs
and
shocks. Any advice here? I was considering Eibachs and Konis on all 4 corners
and will be running Kuhmos on a spare set of stock 14" rims. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Thanks in advance,</FONT></DIV>

I don't know if this was already suggested? Check the wires at
the O2 Sensor, they could be rubbing against the heat shield and causing
intermittent problems,
