> sheets somewhere). Oh, and the new ones come ceramic coated,

Just reminded me of an idea I had over the summer. You know that
fireproof exhaust wrapping used to wrap headers, etc? Well, I was
thinking what the benefits would be of covering the whole exhaust system
(only pipes, no mufflers or cats) in it. The hotter your exhaust, the
easier and faster the flow. So, you would directly lose some low end,
but high end would scream. The stuff is pretty expensive, as seen in
the back of EC mag ads. I actually did go to a fabric shop to get some
canvas-type, heat-proof fabric. No luck though. You might think that
the fabric would get soaked with every puddle you go over, but I figured
that if some metal window screen was first put on the pipe, then the
fabric, and the fabric was metal zip tied to the pipe it would be able
to dry out fast. Probably sounds like a crazy idea, and maybe only
worth a few horsepower, but who knows. I still plan on trying this out
when the weather gets consitently warmer and I can spend a day taking
apart my exhaust and covering it with the fabric.
