Does anybody have a cure for this? For some strange reason my Golf seems to
lose alternator bracket bolts. This weekend I lost my second one in six
months. I lost the long M8x120 bolt that the alternator pivots on. After
replacing that bolt I checked all of the other bolts that hold the alt. in to
be sure they were tight. well this weekend the car threw another bolt. It
was the one that holds in the bracket that spans between the bracket on the
block and the splined (I think that's the right term) adjusting bar. Of
course this could not happen when I was not heading out on a first date plus
had to meet friends with whom I was supposed to drive into NY City. My date
did not find it amusing that I showed up in my Father's two tone blue '82
Diesel Chevette with a fallen headliner that messes up hair the moment you
get in. The real pisser is that I busted my friends balls about the
headlights not working on his Integra (it is a Honda and I could not help
myself just too easy) hence why I had to pick him up to go into the city. I
have check all the bolts again and they are still tight plus the ones that
don't get used while replacing the belt have locktight or lock nuts on them
now. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
