They also had them on '88's here in the U.S. I think they changed them sometime in October. Lucky me, my car was built in August. I didn't even think to check the brakes on the broken GLI. That would be sweet if it did have the 10.1's. An 11" conversion would be a lot cheaper.
You may want to be sure that you don't have them already.
