Ok guys, I have some plans for the near future to transplant a 2L into
my current Jetta GTX 1.8L GTX.

I plan on rebuilding the entire motor myself (I've never done this
before but I'm ready for the challenge).
What should be done/changed to achieve maximum performance?
What can be done along a more reasonable budget?

Head:
How much can the head be ported? 
Should I sitck with a ported and polished 2L head or 1.8L head?
What's a 3 angle valve job and is it worth it?
What valves and valve springs should I go for? Techtonics?
How much should the head be shaved for a daily driver running Sunocco
Ultra 94?
I doubt I'm gonna get cams, but I'd probably get an intake cam.

Block:
I hear all this talk about balancing and blueprinting, what exactly has
to be balanced and why? Is it worth the cost?
Should any of the engine's bearings be changed?
Any prefernec on Piston Rings?


I know that techtonics sells a lot of the parts I mention.  How does
their quality/prices match up to other suppliers?
