How about a duel belt system like Tech does on their G60's. That would be kinda cool. Vw origionaly had the timing belt change listed at 60k miles, but they moved it down to 40k because to many of them were going bad before that. The belt on my car didn't actually snap. The teeth of the belt peeled off. At least that is what I can gather from looking at the belt. I also emailed Aluminum Head Rebuilders, but they didn't get back to me. Maybe they figured I was the one who called. I had the exact same question. If my pistions turn out okay, I might have my head rebuilt also, even though it is in okay condition. Adios!
