Volvo is marketing the V/S40 towards a specific market. Unfortunately, that market doesn't want to be bothered with shifting. In fact, most of the US market doesn't want to be bothered with having three pedals on the floor. We're amongst a growing minority that chooses manual transmission vehicles for reasons other than economy.
