I love the look of the Brembo or Wilwood's, don't get me wrong. I think
they're the coolest things going. However, the one thing that troubles me
is that when EC upgraded their project GLX, they said that it didn't
significantly decrease their stopping distances over modified stock (11.3",
Velocity slotted rotors, Ferodo pads).

If you're upgrading from the 9.4" or even 10.1" to Corrado brakes,
Wilwood's, whatever, you're bound to feel something - part real, part
imagined. Still, what I want to know is do they really offer a significance
performance upgrade over OEM components?

Anyone got an answer?

To set the record straight, I've upgraded my '90 GLI to 11" calipers and
carriers, ATE Power Disks, and Mintex Redbox pads. I'm going not doing any
further upgrades to my front brakes (well, maybe more aggressive pads).
