It's my fault to not have mentioned that the same EC test did a bunch of
stops from high speeds to test resistance to fade.  They found that there
was virtually no difference in fade resistance between upgraded OEM and the
Wilwoods.

Like you, the authors theorized that there would probably be a difference at
some level that they hadn't yet reached.  However, that was in theory.  I'll
dig up the article over the weekend and post the relevant points Monday.

        I'm not surprised in the slightest about this. Given that the stock 
        brakes can lock the tires on clean, dry pavement, more braking power

        won't buy you a thing.

        What you can and will buy is fade resistance, braking feel, etc etc.
