Damn... mine does the exact same thing. As everyone else who has chimed in, I too have new strut bearings (VR6). I will be pissed if it is caused from my strut bearings.
-Chuck... You could also have fucked up upper strut bearings too. They will go up and down and make a CLUNK when you back up, hit the brakes, shift to 1st and go, they will go CLUNK when pulling into and out of driveways too. YMMV.
