Most people will try and tighten nuts and bolts as tight as possible , when in fact you only have to tighten a fraction of what we actually do. My advice is if you are constantly stripping threads go and buy one of these small torque wrenches , and then go by the torque settings in the book , you will be amazed at how much you / we overtighten nuts /bolts from the factory specs , and yes , working will a alloy or copper , be extra careful not to over tighten.
