That was my point - in my other life (if I had one, that is), I'm a data base admin. Searching for all VW Jettas in your state that have a license plate starting with "B" or "8" isn't a monumental task. Once listed, it's a fairly simple task to find the ones that are "local" and go from there. In other words, it takes alot more effort than simply a hard-to-remember license plate to go incognito anymore.
