I could be off base here, but I think you need a steering wheel puller to
get that off.  I was fortunate when I got my car that the PO had taken off
the steering wheel before, so my new wheel was a cinch to put on.

You may also want to verify that you have the correct hub adapter from Momo-
I think they are different.

I just got my hub adapter for a MOMO wheel that's going into my '86 GTI.
The hole for the steering column in the hub adapter is too small.  I noticed
that my steering column has the add-on toothed ring making the column a lot
thicker than it would be otherwise.  Looks like if I can get this ring off,
the hub adapter will fit fine.  Anybody know how I can pull this ring off?
(looks like it would be quite a b*tch)  Or am I better off getting the right
hub adapter?
