I have a bunch of friends with Scoobies. Some turbo'd to various levels of
crazyness and none of them have had tranny problems. Besides, pumping
350+hp through a car with a sequential tranny on rally courses isn't exactly
EASY on any tranny and has very little to do with the street cars. IMHO
Scoobies are some of the best cars out there and I could see myself buying a
WRX.

I will agree that rally driving is different from street driving...just think of it as an accelerated wear situation. If a manufacture can't keep a gearbox together for one or two sessions of a rally how do you expect them to make a box that will last 200k? I think it speaks more for the quality of engineering then for the direct comparison between a street car and a rally car. There are lots of other teams that are makin just as much power if not more and they aren't having near the problem with trannys as the suby's are. Now don't get me wrong...i'm not saying that the wrx is a bad car, quite the contrary i think it kicks ass. You have to admit they seem to have a problem with tranny's.

Like Clayton has said...it's not like vw's are any better.
