Went out looking for cars today. I managed to find an '86 scirocco 8v.
Silver, 5-speed, new clutch, EXCELLENT interior, no A/C, 114K miles. Has
some surface rust spots here and there, faded paint and has a small crease
in the left front fender (on the arch around the wheel well) but seems like
an overall good car. Clean title and has a current MA inspection sticker.
$1100. Seem like a decent price? The cosmetic stuff doesn't matter much,
'cause this'll be the girlfriend's car. She just wants something reliable.
I figure the scirocco would be a great candidate for a 2.0l bottom end
swap in the future. ;)
