There's definitely something to that. I have a set of older ground
controls here that I bought used. One of the sleeves was damaged by the
spring moving around (guy had the car set up SUPER low...) so I bought a
new one. The new sleeve is quite a bit diferent than the older one, to
help cure problems with the sleeve "mushrooming" out. Basically what I'm
trying to say is that GC has put a lot more engineering into their
systems. They seem simple at first, but when you look closer the
differences start to show. Just browse their web site some time; they do
some heavy duty R&D on the stuff they manufacture and sell.

Another thing to consider is the quality of the springs that the
"r-active" kit uses. I'm sure they are bargain basement springs, perhaps
not even linear springs. Cheaper springs will have more of a tendency to
"sag" after time. GC's use eibach SRS springs, which are used in all
different types of racing. They have a proven track record.
