Brian,

I believe I may be able to provide a little more information on the
Silver Scirocco 1.8T, if it was the same one that I saw:

While it wasn't the prettiest thing to look at, it was FAST! It was
built by "Adrenalin Motorsport" out of Auburn, MA. {
http://www.adrenalinmotorsport.com/ }. I saw it at the final race of
the One Lap of America event at Watkins Glen, NY. The car was basically
a driver's seat and a motor; it was very stripped down, very
minimalist, very race oriented. Definitely not built with daily driver
duties in mind. It was quite the screamer on the track, the sound from
the BOV when that thing shifted coming down the front straight was
awesome.

Pics and detailed specs can be found here {
http://www.adrenalinmotorsport.com/Projects/scirocco18T/scirocco_home.htm
}. They list it as having an Audi TT interior, but as I recall, it
didn't have that at the race. Maybe that was done beforehand and
stripped for the race, or added after I saw it (5/10/01).
