Racing bad.

I wouldn't try your luck at the ticket thing. The judge will most likely
overlook all that.

Your better bet would be to call the prosecutor and bargain. For speeding
tickets I usually try to trade a no-points equipment violation with an
equivalent fine instead of speeding. Basically offering the PA a chance to
collect the same amount of money without a trial. If he/she declines,
politely acknowledge it and let him/her know that your attorney will be
contacting him/her to begin discovery soon. :)

I got speeding, improper turnaround, and cutting off a bus down to a
broken taillight with a $60 fine after working this angle with a cop and
the PA.

For improper start and racing, you'll have to offer up something with a
pretty good fine. Do a little research and find a speeding violation that
is a comparable fine (might be a little tough) and offer that up. You'll
get out with a few points and be a few hundred bucks poorer, but I bet
it's nothing to what your insurance company does after they get wind of
your racing violation. I know here in Ohio, the racing charge alone can
carry a suspension and puts you halfway to another suspension (6 points on
a scale of 12).

In other words, take your lumps but negotiate for smaller lumps.
