That's how a 'dub tranny works. I ALWAYS go down to 2nd then 1st from neutral. Most transmissions like that... If you insist on going straight to 1st while you are in neutral let the clutch out first to get everything spinning, push the clutch back in, shift to first. It will help but the best bet is 2nd, then 1st. Clayton

However, if I am waiting at a light and shift from neutral to first, it does not like to go in smoothly most of the time and sometimes won't go into 1st unless I go into 2nd first.
