I've come across a thermostatic sandwich plate and oil cooler, and I'm planning on installing it into my `91 16V GTI and help take the thermal load off the radiator from the stock heat exchanger. The plan is for "cool and happy".
In removing the stock heat exchanger, which parts from which other VW is needed when I remove the exchanger and bypass it for the new oil cooler? I'm guessing there's a couple of hoses and the water pipe, but I'm not sure which ones would be compatible with the 16V. Any tips or info is appreciated. Thanks.
