That reminds me. The small bushing on the end of the starter is quite important. If you leave it out, the gear on the starter itself can travel too far, and break the fork on the starter itself. Once that happens the gear won't retract, and makes an AWFUL noise when you go to start your car. Oh, and another thing... when you're pulling out that bushing in the tranny bellhousing, they show a tool used to pull it out. there's actually a much easier way to do this. I wrestled with it for a while, and found that a lug bolt will ALMOST thread into it. Once you get it big enough for a lug bolt to fit in, (perhaps by using a tap or something) you can just thread the bolt in until it hits bottom on the tranny case. As you crank down on the bolt, the sleeve will thread itself up onto the bolt, and pull it out of the hole.
