I thought GTI OE size was 195/50-15. Anyway thats what I run and I think
its the best fit for the car. No rubbing and not a huge amount of sidewall
either.

3) O.E. was 195/55-15's (on the GTI model) and
185/55-15's (on the GLi model). What size can I run?
Right now on my teardrops I have 195/55-14's. Before
I changed my speedo with the 160mph scirocco unit, my
mph was DEAD ON. Verified with a handheld GPS. Now,
its too optimistic (5mph @ 40, 7 @ 60, 10 @ 90).
Before I play around with speedo gears, I want to get
some tires first. Does anyone run 205/50? Any
rubbing? Don't some people run 225/45?
