One thing I find very interesting about Vortex is that there seems to be a LOT of mis-information being spread there. I actually find it entertaining when I see people who seem to "know it all" respond to questions with answers that are very, very wrong. I had heard from a few VW friends that Vortex was like that and had to see for myself so I joined a few months ago. Vortex is also a great place if you want people to jump all over your butt for posting good, correct information. My posts about a certain Water Cooled VW Show were less than well received by more than a few people on Vortex. I laughed my butt off when I went to that show and watched almost Ever Single One of my Concerns Come True. I found it very, very funny that some on Vortex wanted to kill the messenger so to speak before this show but in the end the messenger laughed his Butt Off all day long at the show at the dust and for over TWO HOURS as I watched everyone trying to leave on the one, beat up access road. I also find it very entertaining how some "News" items on Vortex seem to get Sugar Coated, Generalized or in a few cases just misrepresented. I guess that is what they get when they use the "sources" they do for Volkswagen information. It seems that lately they are trying to improve on this which is a good sign. Don't get me wrong, Vortex can be a good source for information once you get through the higher than usual amount of BS and incorrect information being posted there. Problem is, sometimes it gets difficult trying to figure out what is correct and what is not. For me, the 16V list has more hardcore, knowledgeable, VW people who care about helping others with their VWs by sharing good information. Maybe that is why I have stuck around for so long. I guess in addition to being the "old guy" at a certain WC Show I am an "old guy" here on the 16V list. <grin> Gee, I must be near the bottom with the number of posts I do on this list?
