Hi Guys, Well I changed my timing belt today. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It looks like I did it right because I didn't hear any valves smacking the pistons and I didn't feel any interference when I spun the motor by hand. I took it for a test drive and it ran fine.
Out of curiosity what would the car act like if the belt was off 1 tooth ? How do you know if the intermediate shaft is in sync with the crank and cam sprocket or does it matter ? My next question has probably been touched on but I couldn't find much in the archives. When I was doing my timing belt I removed the air intake tube and boots. I noticed that there was quit a bit of oil in these parts. What could be causing this? I had these pieces apart a few months ago and they were dry as a bone.
