actually, if you check the following page:

http://www.badger5.demon.co.uk/2001/throttlebodiesdth.html

you'll see a kit specifically for the vw 16v at the bottom that includes
(from page text):

4 45mm throttle bodies
4 45mmx120mm air horns
2 fuel rails
throttle potentimeter (angle sensor) w/ connector
throttle mechanism compatible with the stock throttle cable
36-1 crank trigger sensor (for ignition timing) & mounting boss
water & air temperature sensors
ignition coil pack (as seen on electromotive TEC-II, for those familiar)
wiring harness
DTA EXP48 ECU (more info on DTA ECU's available at
http://www.dtafast.co.uk/ ) , necessary software, serial cable to connect to
computer, & "starter" engine map specifically for the VW 16v

all this together is definitely expensive (about $3k USD + shipping), as you
stated, but it seems like a pretty complete solution to me, and since the
guy who puts it together is running over 200hp from his Jetta, i'm inclined
to think it works well, once you get the rest of the engine tuned to take
advantage of it... & even if the car's not tuned to the hilt this system
will still be a significant improvement over either of the factory engine
management systems available on the 16v.
