Boyd,

One interesting note on installing the splash shield.  On my 87 GTI all the
holes for installing the shield were there from factory.  The one on the
chassis, facing down behind the tire was hidden by years of mud
accumulation, but it's there.  So if you're putting it off thinking it's
time consuming, look for the holes, if they're there it'll take you ten
minutes.

you can also get it from Potterman, thats where I got mine.  came with all
the hardware to install too. though its still hanging on the "get to it one
day..." wall...

Sure. You can get them from your dealer. It's a plastic splash guard
which bolts down under the engine.
