I took mine off, replaced the head gasket, and put the head on in under 2
hours once.. BUT I did not completely remove the head (left the exhaust
manifold connected). I just lifted the head high enough to slip the head
gasket in...

Subject: Estimate on Hours for R&R 16v head

Hey all,
How many hours estimated for RRing a 16v head. I have a warranty on an
engine that needs to have the head removed and inspected. Supplier is
willing to pay reasonable labor costs for a garage to do the work. They are
stating reasonable hrs as 1.5 hrs removal, the same to replace, total
3hrs!!! This engine is in a car, w/ AC. This seems pretty quick to me...I
haven't done this previous though....
Whaddaya think? BS.......?
