I am finally getting the new GLI today. A 1990 with 61,000 miles. I would
have had it saturday but the battery was dead. He hooked it up to a battery
charger to jump it (I recommended not to) and he must have had it on the
wrong voltage because the starter got fried. This is probably a good thing.
Maybe the starter was bad to begin with. He replaced it yesterday. This is
the car I had mentioned a couple of weeks ago and needs the following: A new
front motor mount, new strut bearings. Now I have heard alot of people
putting solid front motor mounts and VR6 bearings on their cars. What would
you guys recommend? I email someone at partsforvws.com about vr6 bearings
and lowering caps(?) but never heard back from them. Also what brand solid
mount would be recommended?
One more thing. I noticed when sitting in the car that the power recaro
on the drivers side wasnt working. Bad regulator?
