I'm looking to fabricate a custom camera mount that is removeable to allow use in both my VW's. I've see the way a lot of people rig things up using the headrest on the passenger seat, but my VR6 has Recaro SRD's, which have an integrated headrest. I'll need to rig something up that is braced off the rear seating area and allows the camcorder to sit in between the seats at about dash level. I have the rear seats out of both cars, and noticed that I might be able to use the lower seat cushion mounting holes as well as the center pivot bracket for the seat backs. If I can find someone who can weld, I think I have a good design. Can anybody suggest a good place to get some metal fabbing/welding done in the S.F. Valley/LA area?
