my vw finally left me stranded. alternator went bad and quickly died.
luckily only 19 miles from home. last night at about 8:15 on my way home.
luckily it happened right next to some rednecks house, and they even had a
phone! no long distance but 1-800-collect. i've maybe put 300 miles on this
car since i bought it back and nothing but problems. i've had this car for
nearly 4 months, you'd think all the problems would have been fixed by
now... heater core, water pump, spark plugs, plug wires, dist. cap, rotor,
tranny, clutch, fuel filter, cat. was glowing red 3 weeks ago so i cleaned
it out to find out that 80% of the insides were melted. next on the list
alternator, battery, transfer pump i think, have sitting 1.8 16v head, 50mm
intake manifold, still trying to decide which cam(s) i want to go with(euro
intake, shrick 260/276).
