The .91 5th gear (in 16v cars, at least in the 1.8’s…) go 20 at 1k rpm,
40 at 2k rpm, 50 at 2500rpm, 60 in 3k rpm and etc….So no mods have been
made. You can convert to the .75, .76 or .80 5th gear if you want. I
heard the .76 is the best to go because the teeth are wider and more
durable.

I would appreciate it if someone could recommend a quality plug wire
for my 89 gti 16v. I'm looking to spend less than 100.00
Have lots to do on lots of cars....so money is tight. Just got this gti
last week and want to first get it running decent, then work on its

Question#2...The gti turns about 2,500 rpms in 5th gear going 50 mph.
50 mph in 4th gear turns 3,000 rpms. Is this how they turn from
or do you think modifications have been made.
