My friend Daren totalled his '91 GTI on friday.  He broadsided a Porsche 
Boxter that ran a stop sign.  He was travelling at about 50mph, and he walked 
away from the accident with bumps and bruises.  And I agree that the hood 
took alot of the impact...

Guys, please wear your seatbelt, and make sure your passengers do, too.  And 
if you have those stupid passive restraints(belts attached to the door), 
switch them out ASAP.  Daren and I are both convinced that's what saved him 
from further injuries.
