It was never specified which part was wanted to be taken out. If the tumblers
are okay they can be left in place. But It is near impossible to get to the
screws, atleast on my cars with out either sliding the whole mechanism up the
steering shaft or just dropping the column. Only hard part may be getting to
the screws.
